I don’t think if this weekend could get any better. It was a dance competition organised in the NGO today, so my kids performed there. They traveled via metro for the first time, and their questions, their energy, their love… amazing! It was fatiguing, but magical and full of love… from their first steps on escalators to leaving them back to their homes and seeing their parents’ smiling 🙂
They were total nine in number today, participating in that event. And, everyone is a different personality in itself. Please don’t bother about the results 😛 Actually, we stood fifth among five groups. Haha!
Well, different groups from different zones in Delhi participated in this competition. The kids got participation certificates. But the most important thing, they could get, is one magical day! It was a journey taking around 1.5 hours via metro. And it was their first time in the train. So, I guess, you very well know how curious they could be! And me? Ahh, I was the senior one 😛 I was telling them everything I could know till now. Haha! Though, their queries… they often make you think the way you’ve forgotten to! They teach you, how to live in this robotic world!
I’d mention one thing, that left an imprint on my heart.
I asked the little kid about his favorite song; just to get it played, to make him happy. He said nothing, but smiled. I again asked him, saying that there must be a song that you’d be listening to, on TV or Radio FM. His answer touched me. He said nothing new, nothing that I din’t know before. I could feel his words smiling. And, I can’t forget- “Ma’am, humare ghar me light hi nahi to TV aur FM pe kese sunenge gaane!“ (Ma’am, there is no electricity supply to my home. So, how’d I listen to any song on TV or FM) Anyway, I don’t want to express myself over this line, it’s been simply locked in my heart 🙂
Apart from this, I felt happy in taking care of them, trying to get to know them personally, trying to make them comfortable, so as to bridge the invisible gaps. Tasting their home-made meals with them, sitting on the mat… helping one of the girls in wearing her shoes… and the moments when they were scared to move to escalators, to the moments they got confident enough in using the escalators… memorable! Every single moment was… precious & priceless!
Well, I feel, my partner will also support me in this. How beautiful it would be, being with him, after such a lovely exhausting day! It’d be about my big kid, after spending the day with my little kids 😉
For now, good night and sleep well.
